Advisor for American Express Financial Advisors Inc., spoke to ninth
grade students at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven on April
7. Rubin is one of a dozen volunteers who spoke to eighth and ninth
grade
students in New Haven encouraging them to sign up for the Connecticut
State Scholars program. |

All presentations to Fair Haven were completed by April
28. Snow required us to re-schedule three of them. |

The presentations to Wilbur Cross HS 9th graders took
place on April 7 and 8. |

4/14 |
The presentations to The Metropolitan Business Academy
took place on April 12 and 14. Volunteers from Byer Pharmaceuticals,
CBIA, SBC, The Bilco Co, American Express, Murtha Culina Law Firm,
Recruitsoft, and Cyclone
Microsystems
participated. |

Danbury
- All presentations have been completed to all 8th
graders at Roger’s
Park Middle School and Broadview Middle School.
- All presentations have
been completed to the 9th graders at Danbury High School.
- Volunteers
from IBM, CBIA, Housatonic Economic Development, Wal-Mart, Greater
Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Branson
Ultrasonics, Praxair, Danbury Hospital, and Turner Construction
participated.
- Students are selecting their courses this April, and we
anticipate an increase in the number
increase in the of students who choose to take rigorous classes.
